Final week before the event

Final week of preparations before the event.

Meetings on Wednesday 13th Sep and Friday 15th Sep at 17:00 at the school.

We still need parent volunteers to sign-up for different activities:

– set-up on Friday (15/9)

– the sales booth of tickets for the food court

– security (to ensure that we only go to the areas provided by the school)

– clean-up after the event

The more parents who help out, the less work for everyone.

We need more parents

We are getting closer to the “event of the year”. The students have been informed in the school about the upcoming event and should have received the entry forms for the Food Court and the race itself (one combined form). Some may also been given the colorful Kista Loppet form from the organizers of Kistaloppet.

The next planning meeting for our upcoming event “Kistaloppet & International Food Court” is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday Sept. 6 at 17:00 at the school.

Please ask your children about the sign-up flyer available at reception at the school. Last day to sign-up to run Kistaloppet or Lilla Kistaloppet thrue the school/PTA is this Thursday, Sept. 7.

PTA IES Kista wants you

Mark your calendar for Saturday, 16th September for a great day of fun and fun(d)raising for our students!

The planning process for our big fun(d)raising event continues Thursday 24 August, from 17:00-18:30 in the school.

The plan is to combine Kistaloppet with an international food court at the school on the 16 September. The food will come from the IES Kista families.

The planning group will meet weekly until the event takes place, with two meetings during the last week before the event. Please join us! Our students need you!

We need lot of parent support in the different planning groups: Kistaloppet, International Food Court, Marketing & Information, Student Engagement, House Engagement, Engagement Contract, Financial Management.

Meeting days are as follows from 17:00 (please mark your calendars):

If you have a specific interest in a certain working group or other suggestions please include this in the e-mail.

Short update from the PTA

Dear all,

So finally we have reached the highlight of the year (at least for the students :-)), last day of the school year.

From the PTA it’s been a tough year with “ups and downs”, members that have left the team and new ones coming in, parents meetings with many participant and other with only PTA members attending.

In the beginning the PTA had big plans for the students with separate events for each grade, that in the end had to be scrapped due to various factors. In the end we believe that we are on the right track with the upcoming event in september, “International food day” in conjuction with a fun(d) run (Kista Loppet). We hope to see a lot of you helping out with the final planning of this great event after the summer break.

As a final note, we would like to inform you that we did achieve a small milestone we set out in the beginning. The PTA assisted the 9 grades with arranging 2 discos in the school, the profit they made for this they will spend on bowling tonight and they also went for a “fika” with the teachers at Starbucks last night.

We wish you all a nice summer break and see you back in august.
